Nikki sat nervously in the salon chair, her heart racing as the stylist approached her with a pair of scissors. It was time for her new look. She'd always been adventurous when it came to her hairstyles but this was unlike anything she'd ever done before. The stylist, a young and attractive man, began to snip away at her long locks. Each strand that fell to the floor brought her closer to her big reveal. As the buzzing of the clippers filled the room, she couldn't help but wonder what her friends and family would say when they saw her new do. The anticipation was killing her. After what felt like an eternity, the stylist finally stepped back, revealing a much shorter haircut than expected. It was chin-length and stylish, but Nikki couldn't help but feel self-conscious. She paid the stylist and made her way out of the salon, hoping her new haircut would grow on her soon.
